"La bodega" is the name of the large warehouse-type stores where merchants unloaded clarinets, trumpets and euphoniums directly from their boats. It is by way of water that the music that we now consider Colombian arrived. The indigenous culture was its bedrock, but then African slaves brought their native rhythms, the Spanish brought with them the guitar and from Germany the accordion arrived like an immigrant.
