Tchavolo Schmitt
Tchavolo Schmitt was born in Paris in 1954 in a musicians' familly and started playing the guitar around the age of six. At the age of 11, he left with his brothers and settled down in Strasbourg. In 1974 he formed the Hot Club de Sint with his cousins. In 1992 he met the film-maker Tony Gatlif who asked him to participate in his film " Latcho Drom ". Tchavolo, who lived on his music in bars, released only few discs in his long career.
