Although it is anchored in the Syrian musical style, Syriana is a project born in London, out of the meeting of the qanun (a string instrument found in Near Eastern traditional music based on Maqamat) player, Abdullah Chhadeh and Nick 'Dubulah' Page, one of the founders of Transglobal Underground. Around Abdullah's 81 chords, the two musicians have developped a vast, desert like atmosphere which often harks back to the moving music from the original sound track of the film 'Paris-Texas'.
