SOS Haiti - Aidons Haïti à se reconstruire - Help Haiti to rebuild itself
On the 12th of January, 2010, an earthquake struck the Port-au-Prince region, the capital of Haiti. More than 100,000 people died, with the same number, if not more, seriously injured. The majority of buildings were destroyed.
Mondomix put together a compilation of various Haitian music, ranging from popular artists such as Toto Bissainthe, to more simple, field recordings, taking in the country's Vaudou folk and funk. The money raised went towards helping two of the charities working at the scene.
This compilation is no longer available but we would like to thank the artists and their record companies (Accords Croisés, Arion, Aztec, Buda, Iris, Lusafrica, No Format), without whom this project would not have been possible.
