Is it a band, an orchestra or simply an unnamed arrangement?  The concept for "PJSC" is unusual, baffling even, and yet it works so well.  In 1997, Lula Galvao, Eduardo Neves, Xande Figueiredo, Roberto Marques, Rodrigo Lessa Edson Menezes and Marcos Esguleba came together to produce improvisional music that is not only surprisingly coherent, but also catchy.  Having worked as sidemen to some of the important MPB artists, the group generates carioca/ Bahian grooves, with jongo, choro, samba and bossa nova influences.
