Manu Chao
French born with Spanish roots, this singer and political activist started his career in the band Hot Pants, and later formed the group Mano Negra. Now a solo artist, his music is punk rock with a strong latin and reggae influence, mixing Spanish, French and English, and sometimes other languages as well. Manu Chao relays a left-wing message in his music, often singing about immigration and poverty.
