Kronos quartet
Formed in 1978 and based in San Franscico, California, this contemporary classical string quartet has the longest-running combination of performers: Harrington and John Sherba on violin, Hank Dutt on viola, and Jeffrey Zeigler on Cello. What sets them apart from other quartet groups is their strong passion for a broad range of musical genres, including Mexican folk, Indian classical music, movie soundtracks, jazz, and tango. With a repertoire of over 600 works since 1999, the Kronos Quartet has sold more than 1.5 million records and continue to be a success in the world of classical music.

This album, specifically created to honor author and modernist composer Dane Rudhyar, perfectly exemplifies Rudhyar's minimalist and expanded consonance pieces and makes them anomalous.
