Kermit Ruffins

Kermit Ruffins is a true heir of Louis Armstrong. This trumpet player and singer co-founded the Rebirth Brass Band in 1983 while attending Clark High School, in the Ninth Ward of New Orleans, in the Tremé neighborhood. Ruffins, who is famous for cooking barbecue at some of his shows, also founded the Barbecue Swingers in 1992. He has performed at hundreds of funerals and received a nomination at the Big Easy Entertainment Awards, which recognizes local talents.
