Hugo Diaz

Hugo Diaz was born in Santiago Del Estero in 1927 from a very poor family. He started playing the harmonica at the age of 5. Hugo Diaz played the tango using a unique phrasing. While the folk music of his place of birth may have had an impact on his repertoire, his exposure to the music scene in Buenos Aires meant that he would play tango as if it were his own music. He was a popular and respected musician in Argentina.
