Hasna el Becharia is a singer native of Béchar, a large town in the South-West of Algeria, on the borders of the desert. With a powerful and rough gumbri (an instrument often used by the Gnawa) sound and an astonishing sense of rhythm, Hasna reminds the music of the ancient inhabitants of Algeria.
