This band was named "Baul Bishwa" (the world of Bauls) by Bapi Das Baul who above all wishes to share his culture and music with others. Bapi is the representative of the eighth generation of the most talented and famous Baul family in India. Since his infancy he was taught by his father Purna Das Baul to sing, play instruments, and practice Baul meditation.

In "6th sense," Baul Bishwa evokes the complex history of the Bauls, the musicians from Bengal who have lived under so many different yokes without disappearing. Their music is light and soft, so much that it almosts leads one into a trance.
