The objectives of this CD are first and foremost to safeguard the traditional songs of the first inhabitants of French Guiana: the Kalina. Its diffusion will contribute to the recognition of the Kalina people from the Guiana plateaus. The preservation of cultural values is essential for a balanced future and mostly to maintain a musical reference point which protects the musical identity of the Amerindian youths.
