    • Who are we?

      Mondomix, created on March 21st, 1998, is an online webzine born from the intersection of world music and the Internet. The weekly webzine, in both English and French, is an ongoing archive of international news about world music. Mondomix also publishes a free print magazine distributed in France (distribution: 100,000 copies) and produces television programs and DVDs about world music.

      We created the downloading platform mp3.mondomix.com in 2005 to allow all people of the world to navigate the continents and ride the trade winds to make their own soundtrack, and to share that soundtrack as they like.

      It is in this same spirit of adventure and curiosity that we at Mondomix hope to guide you through our catalog of over 50,000 mp3s, with neither DRM restrictions nor cultural barriers. Both newcomers and demanding web-savvy Internet users can take advantage of our large catalog of world music.

      The site mp3.mondomix.com offers an MP3 downloading service, by album or by individual song.

      Mp3.mondomix.com is first and foremost a group of avid music fans who choose the best new music as well as the most influential albums to increase our product offering and provide recommendations:

      You will find "Radiomix", our online radio, on our homepage.
      If you click on it; a new window will open and a song will begin.
      To feed this radio, we have selected hundreds of tracks from the thousands that we sell.
      If you like a track, you have the ability to put it in your cart simply by clicking on the button "Purchase".
    • What is the artist revenue share ?

      Even in the worst case, the artists or their representatives (including the record companies) get at least 50% of the incomes of the downloading service.

    • Our musical selection

      Mondomix reflex the multitude of musical expressions which are moving and grooving the planet. The sounds, whether traditional or contemporary, rooted in one culture or a mix of many, are, for lack of a better word, known as "world music". We have found a way to select the best music and offer it with equal parts openness and curiosity for ten years, signing with many labels to provide you with the greatest selection of music possible. Each week, our commercial team negotiates contracts with new partners. It could be possible that you do not find the music that you are looking for. Don't hesitate to inform us, we will make all efforts possible to come in contact with labels that carry the catalogue that may interest you.

    • What is our privacy and security policy?

      At mp3.mondomix.com, we are committed to respecting your privacy and protecting your personal data.

      To create an account, we ask certain personal information about you such as your first and last name, date of birth, and email address. This information allows us to identify you and send you a confirmation email of your subscription to our service. After your purchases, we will send you the necessary links to download songs by email.

      All the data which you provide is used to help you take advantage of our downloading service, as well as to provide you with updates on new releases. In addition, the secure payment service Paypal encrypts all personal information.

      In compliance with the [Loi Informatique et Liberté du 6 janvier 1978], you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. In order to do this you are required to make an inquiry by post and include your first and last name, postal address, and email address.

    • How do I know that your site is secure?

      When you visit our payment site (Paypal), you will notice that there is a small icon of a padlock which appears in the bottom of your browser window on the status bar. (To see it make sure you have clicked on View/Status Bar in your browser).
      Another way to check that the page you are on is secure is to right-click on the payment page and select “properties”. The URL which is shown will begin with the letters “https” (the ‘s’ stands for secure).

    • How to register

      To take advantage of our a la carte downloading site (mp3.mondomix.com), you must first register and create an account. From your account you can manage your downloads with our download manager.

      Signing up is as easy as 1, 2, 3

      1. Click on the “registration” link which is at the top of all the pages of the site.
      2. Fill out the relevant fields on the registration form (signing up only takes two minutes). It is necessary to give us a valid email address so that you can receive our confirmation emails for orders and payments, and also so we can contact you if there is a problem.
      3. To complete registration, you will receive an email which will confirm your registration to mp3.mondomix.com. As soon as your registration is complete, you can access your account at any time and purchase tracks and albums from our site.

      Why do we need your email address?

      We use your email address:

      - To send a confirmation email each time you make a download. This email contains a link which you can save in case the internet connection is interrupted while downloading your file or in case your product is accidentally erased from your hard drive.
      - To send a confirmation email when you make a payment.
      - To contact you in case there is a problem.

      Can I take advantage of mp3.mondomix.com’s services and choose not to receive any emails?

      By signing up to mp3.mondomix.com you subscribe to Mondomix’s newsletter, however you will receive information from Mondomix’s partners only if you click on that option when you sign up. You can unsubscribe to the newsletter by clicking on the link which is included in all our informational emails.

      Why do I have to use a password?

      The password allows you to use your mp3.mondomix.com account in a secure way. By using your password, you assure your identity. The password must have at least six characters and must be different from your user name. Also, please make sure that your password can not be easily found out by a third party.

      Is the country of residence important when signing up?

      Yes, because legal constraints regarding distribution rights limit the countries where we can distribute certain products. For example, if your country is not the United States of America (USA), you will not be able to access the products which are exclusive to the USA.

      How do I delete my account?

      If you want to delete your mp3.mondomix.com account, all you have to do is send a written request by post, telling us your user name, as well as your first and last names, your email address, and your physical address to the following address:

      -The search engine:
      If you know the name of the artist, the album title, or even the song which you are seeking, the search engine is the quickest option: just type the key word or words in the field and choose the type of key word (Artist, Album, Track, or Promo code) in the drop-down menu on the right-hand side. Once you hit enter, your search will lead you to the results page.

    • About our help section

      If you were not able to find an appropriate answer to your problem in the menu of the different rubrics in our "Help" section, you can click on the button "Submit a Problem", and directly get in contact with our team.
      If you already have an account with mp3.mondomix.com and you are logged in, you will be directed to a "Request assistance" form that will allow you to explain your problem.
      Once your demand is validated, you will receive in a few minutes a confirmation email , which will include your ticket ID number, a number that is very useful in the case you need further assistance.
      Once the confirmation is recieved, we will do what is in our power to find a solution within 48 hours (working days).

       - Access your account

      You can access your account by clicking on the "My account" link which can be found above and to the right of each page.
      You will be asked to enter your e-mail adress and your password.

       

      - Forgotten password

      If you have forgotten your password, you will need to click on the link "Forgotten password?" that appears to the right.
      You will be asked to enter your e-mail address.
      You will receive an email following this that will include a link to our database.
      By clicking on this link, you will have the possibility to create a new password.
      We cannot resend you your old password : due to security reasons, we do not have access to this confidential information.

       

      - The different sections of your account

      When you reach the page that shows the details of your account, more sections will appear:

                 - "Your downloads": This section allows you to retrieve all your purchased music at any time.
                 - "My order history"
                 - "Personal Informations": here you can modify all your personnal datas, including your email as well as your password.
                 - "My music credits".

       

      - How to change my personal informations ?

                - My email address: In the "Personal datas" section of your account, you just need to click in the "Modify" link which you will find above your email address.
                - Above the line of your password, you will also find a link to modify your password
                - You also can edit all your personal datas directly in this form.
      Once you made some changes, do not forget to confirm them by clicking on the "Submit" button.

    • Selecting a payment method

      The first step of the payment process

      To start the payment process, you need to click on the word "Checkout" that is written on your cart.
      You will be asked to register if you have not all ready done so.
      The first step of the payment process consists of review of your order.
      At this stage, you again have the possiblity to delete an object from your cart.
      You will access the second step by clicking on "Payment".

      If you have credits; the second step of the payment process will ask you to select a method of payment.
      You can either pay with your bank card, or use your credits.
      If, on the other hand, you don't have any credits, the second step will be a summary of your order.
      To pass to the payment, so to say, you will need to click on "Confirm payment". You will then be directed to the secured payment service, PayPal.

      How to pay with your credits

      During the second step of the payment process, you can choose to pay using your credits.
      Two situations could be then presented: you have enough credits, or you do not have enough credits.

      If you have enough credits

      If you have enough credits to pay for your order, you need to click on the button situated next to "My music credits" and then "Confirm payment".
      The third step of the payment process will remind you how many credits you have left after this purchase.
      To finish the payment purchase, you just need to click on "Download your tracks". You will then be returned to your account page.

      If you do not have enough credits

      If, on the other hand, you do not have enough credits, you can still click on the button situated next to "My music credits".
      Our packages will appear inside the contextual menu in red.
      If you choose a package, you will now be able to click on the link "Confirm payment".
      By clicking on this link, you will arrive at the third step of the payment process.
      You will see that the package that you have chosen is now included your order.
      By clicking on "Confirm", you will be able to pay the total amount of your order with your bank card.
    • Your orders

      - How to order a track or an album ?

      You will find next to each song or album title an icon that looks like a shopping cart.
      You will need to click on it so that the track or album will be added to your cart.
      A temporary message will appear then to tell you that "This article was added to your cart".

      - How to verify the contents of your cart ?

      Your cart will be found above and to the right of each page.
      If you are at the bottom of the page, a green icon situated on the right, titled "Checkout", will bring you immediately to the top of the page by clicking on it.
      The contents of your cart are shown clearly, with a line separating each selected product.
      You can at any moment delete a product by clicking on the trashcan icon.
      To finish your order, you will need to click on the word "Checkout".
      You will then be redirected to the payment process.

      - What is PayPal ?

      All of our sales go through PayPal, a bank payment service used by hundreds of millions of users.
      It is not necessary, however, to have a PayPal account to buy our MP3s.

      - How to pay with your bank card ?

      When you confirm your order and you reach the secured payment interface of PayPal, you will find, at the bottom of the page to the left, the logo of your bank card (Visa, Mastercard, ...).
      To pay by bank card, you need to click on the link "Continue" which is found above these icons.
      You will be able then to fillout a form indicating your country, your name, the type of card used, the card number, the expiration date and the visual cryptogram (the numbers found on the back of the card).
      The other information (your postal address, your telephone number,...) are optional. After having clicked on the icon "Verify your order and pay", the total amount of your order will be shown.
      Click then on "Pay" to finish your purchase.
      The link "Click here to download your MP3s" will allow you to return to the Mondomix web site.

      - How to pay with your PayPal account ?

      When you confirm your order and you reach the secured payment interface of PayPal, you will find on the right an identification form.
      You will be asked for your email and your password.
      If you have forgotten your password, a link will be shown to very simply recreate your password.
      Remember that it is not necessary to have a PayPal account to purchase our MP3s.
      The icon "Continue" situated at the bottom left of the PayPal homepage and above the logos of different bank cards, will allow you to pay without creating an account (see "How to pay with your bank card").
    • Your downloads

      - Where to find your purchases ?

      As soon as you have paid for your order, you will find the tracks or the albums selected on your account page.
      These tracks or albums are located in the section "My downloads".
      The section "My order history" will allow you to retreive certain details of your purchase: The date, the price, the order ID and the method of payment.

      - How to download ?

      To download the tracks or albums that you have chosen, return to the section "Downloads". Next to each title, you will find the icon "Download".
      You only need to click on it for your navigator to begin the download process.
      Most navigators place the downloaded files on the "Desktop" of the computer.
      But you can also set your navigator to place your files in a specific folder.

      - How to download an album ?

      By the end of the year we will have finished the development of a download manager, which will avoid track by track downloads. We understand that it becomes a problem when buying several albums.

      In the meantime you need to proceed in two steps:

       

    • Credits and free track

      What is a credit ?

      We are offering you to buy in advance a package of 20 or 50 credits.
      Each purchased credit will give you the ability to download a track.
      This is sort of a package that will allow you to save money on your downloads.

      Where to find your credits ?

      The credits are to be found on a specific page of the site that will be accesible by a link.
      If you log in to the site, the number of credits that you have left is constantly shown on the personal information bar situated above and to the right of each page.

      When to use your credits ?

      The credit system permits you to save money on the purchase of tracks.
      But it is sometimes better not to use them and to pay with your bank card, notably in the case of an album that includes many tracks.
      It is up to you to choose the method of payment that best suits you.

      Free track

      Each week, we offer you a free track.
      A large banner will show it in the changing "Highlights" menu on the homepage. This banner is a link that will take you directly to an artist's page.
      You will find the free track among the other tracks. You will recognize it by the word "Free" highlighted in green that is where the price would normally be.

      2 options:

      - During the purchase of new mp3s: You will directly get to the downloading page of the program.

      In both cases the installation process is described before starting the downloading of the software.

    • How to Use Mondomix Download Manager?

      Once the software started you can:

       

       

      - Download your last purchase in 1-click: They are automatically selected by the software. All you have to do is clicking on the "Download" button.
       
      - Unselect all selected music: by unchecking the "Select Your Downloads" box in the header of the first column.
       
      - Select track by track: by clicking on the check boxes of the first column.
       
      - Select a full album in 1-click: by going to the "Album Tab" (see screenshot)

      Sort your mp3 by artist, Album or Track: by clicking on the header of the related column.
