Afel Bocoum
Born in Niafunke, in Northern Mali, the hometown of Ali Farka Touré, Afel Bocoum is a virtuoso guitarist of the Sonhrai country, where music is tinged by the desert and gets its rhythm from the great river Niger.

This third album features long time collaborators of Afel, such as Hama Sakare, one of the most extraordinary musicians of the old ensemble of Ali Farka Toure, on percussions and Barou Diallo on bass. Together, they create a brilliant and deep groove over which the njarka (a one string violin ) of Kipsi Bokoum and the njurkle (a four string lute) of Yoro Cisse interlace their melodies.
